Drugstore shampoo products’ disasters
Are you wasting money on drugstore shampoo products?
Tired of your ‘Rihanna Red’ fading in a matter of 3 washes?
Does it baffle you as to how many top-up-toner trips you have to take to the salon? Are all of these questions in your mind screaming out for an answer?
What we’d say is, read on!
Basically, everything you’ve been told is wrong. The status quo, typical word on the street is *drum roll* — FALSE. Not to worry, though. We’re here to tell you what’s really true. And, we’ll answer why your vibrant coloured locks just aren’t sustaining a few more washes!
To put it in the simplest terms, our answer is to lay off disastrous drugstore shampoo products. Yes, yes, we understand they smell divine. There is nothing better than lathering on some silky, smooth Dove shampoo as it emanates the scent of heaven. What’s more, we completely understand that the products are cheaper too. Why pay 3-times the price of drugstore shampoo products, when Pantene has been keeping your hair silky smooth since 1999? We’ll tell you why.
An unidentified hair salon in America conducted a very insightful experiment. They tested the resilience of purple dyed human hair when dipped in drugstore colour protection shampoo water solution vs Redken salon shampoo. The salon didn’t just dip and compare the dyed hair against any drugstore shampoo products. They dipped it into TRESemmé, Dove, Pantene, Suave, Herbal Essences and Garnier. What we observed was known to us already. However, definitely a fantastic visual to prove to our clients that salon products are indeed worth the money!
Without going into huge detail in the video above it was clear that all drugstore shampoo products appeared to remove a significant amount of hair dye from the hair. The water solution turned a light purple colour for each experiment. The only shampoo solution that extracted the least amount of hair-dye was Redken shampoo!
Convinced? You should be!
And, if you’re still hung up on the price, think of it this way; would you rather spend a fortune on visiting the salon every month for toner top-ups? Or, would you rather spend a little more money on good quality hair products every 2-3 months, for shiny, vibrant coloured hair? Your choice!
