MET Gala 2018: The best and worst hairstyles
This year’s MET Gala was welcomed with an abundance of excitement, shock, awe and a whole lot of swooning.
Celebrities graced the red carpet with their interpretation of what was claimed to be the best MET Gala theme in years, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”.
One thing we can indeed confirm is that heaven was brought to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, but unfortunately, hell also made its entrance. During this very exciting annual event, Revolution Hair Salon summoned the hair police to pick out the best and worst hairstyles at the 2018 MET Gala! It was tough pickings, but they have finally come to a verdict.
Blake Lively
A combination of true natural beauty and impeccable taste often gives birth to some of the most celestial sights to see.
Blake Lively exhibited nothing short of the heavenly energy we were searching for. Her loosely pinned updo was adorned with goddess-like waves that softened that bold statement portrayed through her dress. Our favourite bit was the halo style hairpiece! – It was the cherry on top of a truly statuesque goddess look.
Katy Perry
Victoria’s secret eat your heart out! If there ever was a statement at the MET Gala this would be it.
If we are commenting solely on the hair, we would say it’s fabulous! A gorgeous pastel white with dark roots compliments a grand spectacle like the one she’s exhibiting, perfectly. The outfit is edgy and suits the rock chick look she’s been heading for. Do we love it? YES! The hair waves have been styled almost as if she is wearing a golden leafed Greek crown on her head!
Amanda Seyfried
If the word “heaven” was to be personified, Amanda Seyfried would be the image.
The Mamma Mia star glided onto the red carpet and lit up space with her loosely flowing bright yellow dress and make-up that transformed her into an alien goddess queen. The Edwardian ripples in her hair flowed as mesmerisingly and the waves of fabric on her sleeve. To top it off, the golden tiara added an element of royalty to the princess-like look. Stellar!
Miley Cyrus
Did Miley get the memo? This is the MET Gala, not the BED Gala! Ms Cyrus trudged onto the red carpet with a loose fitting long black dress that looked like it was two sizes too big.
We love a feminine messy hair look as much as anyone else does, but we’re convinced that the former Hannah Montana star got her hair done the night before a very messy night out, jumped out of bed hungover, threw the dress on and attended the event. Terrible!
